In response, Bodor Laser applies the concept of “Extreme Speed” to tube processing, focusing on efficiency across the entire production workflow. Rather than pursuing speed alone, this approach integrates machine performance, structural stability, and intelligent control. The Bodor Laser SK Series High-Speed Tube Laser Cutting Machine represents a practical implementation of this concept.

 

2.7G Acceleration Delivers Up to 1.8× Higher Efficiency

Extreme speed begins with strong physical performance. The SK Series delivers a maximum acceleration of 2.7G and a maximum rotational speed of 260 r/min, enabling stable and efficient operation under high-speed conditions. The rear chuck reaches position in just 2.5 seconds and, combined with high-speed rotation, helping maintain smooth operation during continuous high-speed cutting.

To maintain accuracy at these speeds, the laser head Z-axis operates at up to 60 m/min, supported by an upgraded adaptive following algorithm that ensures precise, responsive motion. In parallel, the system supports simultaneous loading and cutting, reducing tube loading time to as little as 8 seconds and further improving the production cycle. Together, these capabilities contribute to an overall processing efficiency increase of more than 20%, converting performance improvements into measurable output gains.

Test results show that at 2.7G peak acceleration, the SK Series delivers up to 1.8× higher efficiency compared with operation at 1G.

 

Structural Innovation Improves Chuck Positioning Accuracy by Over 20%

The effectiveness of extreme speed ultimately depends on stability, which directly determines precision. The SK Series is therefore designed with a strong focus on structural stability to ensure consistent accuracy, even under extreme operating conditions.

At the core of the machine is Bodor Laser’s arch-bridge structure, which features a triangular, three-dimensional transmission design. By optimizing force distribution on the guide rails during high-speed motion, this structure achieves mechanical balance and provides a stable foundation for precision movements.

Built on this ultra-stable platform, key components are able to deliver higher accuracy. The chuck, manufactured from high-strength alloy material and treated with advanced heat processing, achieves an improvement of more than 20% in positioning accuracy compared with the previous generation.

A representative example of this stability-driven design is the front-chuck over-travel technology. By allowing the front chuck to move past the laser head while holding the tube, the system enables dual-chuck clamping for long workpieces, ensuring consistent accuracy from the start of processing through to the end of long tubes.

The SK Series integrates an AI intelligent nesting system that automatically optimizes cutting paths.
